LSPC Solicits Increased Patronage By MDAs
The General Manager, Lagos State Printing Corporation, Mr. Sakirudeen Odusanya has solicited the support of the State Government for increased patronage by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies for all printing jobs.
Odusanya made the appeal on Wednesday while receiving Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo, the Special Adviser to the Governor on Parastatals Monitoring at the Corporation, saying there is a need for LSPC to be declared as the official printer for the State Government
He stressed that the State Government had committed huge amount of taxpayers’ money to acquire state-of-the-art equipment for the corporation, adding that in order to recoup the large investment, patronage by all Ministries and Agencies was essential.
According to him, “There is an Executive Order by Lagos State Government as well as a Circular from the Office of the Head of Service mandating all government offices and MDAs to patronise the Lagos State Printing Corporation for all their printing jobs. But these official orders are being treated with levity by all concerned at the expense of the State government”.
He, therefore, urged the Special Adviser to intervene on behalf of the Corporation with the Governor of Lagos State, so that there can be increased productivity and efficiency of its hi-tech equipment currently being underutilized.
In his remarks, the Special Adviser to the Governor, Mr. Afolabi Ayantayo stated that the official visit to the Corporation was in line with the directive of Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu to assess the conditions of all Agencies and take adequate measures to safeguard improved productivity and quality service delivery to Lagosians.
He disclosed further that printing and information are competitive businesses in our contemporary economy, hinting that the Governor had given directives that all printing and official information must be processed through the Ministry of Information and Strategy.
Ayantayo, therefore, promised to take a positive step to resolve the challenges facing the Corporation in order to sustain its businesses as well as increase overall productivity and efficiency for effective service delivery.
