Born in 1964 in Ermelu, Mpumalanga province, South Africa, Lucky Dube’s passion for music blossomed during his time in the school choir and as a member of a garage band. These early experiences laid the foundation for his remarkable journey as a Reggae Musician and devoted Rastafarian.

Lucky Dube played a significant role in popularizing reggae music globally, with notable albums such as “Think About The Children” (1985) and “Victim” (1993).

Tragically, Lucky Dube’s life was cut short on 18th October 2007 when he was fatally shot in his car, a Chrysler 300C, in Rosettenville, a suburb of Johannesburg. This heinous act was carried out by car hijackers identified as Julius Gxowa, Mbuti Mabe, and S’fiso Mhalanga.

In a testament to justice, the perpetrators were later apprehended, tried, and subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment for their atrocious crimes. Lucky Dube’s death was a very painful one.
