Madagascar Top Group B Following Nigeria Humiliation
Madagascar humiliated the Super Eagles of Nigeria yesterday, scoring one goal in each half to produce an unlikely victory over the three-time African champions that ensured their qualification as group winners with 7 points.
With qualification already secured following Super Eagles 1-0 win over Guinea on Wednesday, coach Gernot Rohr made five changes to the team, with the most obvious being captain John Obi Mikel starting in place of Alex Iwobi.
The underdogs that carved out the best of the match for which they were duly rewarded although Nigeria enjoyed a larger share of possession during the match played at Alexandria Stadium.
