Chelsea struck early, taking the lead just 98 seconds in when Cole Palmer’s in swinging corner was inadvertently flicked on by Matheus Cunha, allowing Nicolas Jackson to head in unmarked at the back post.
Jackson’s exuberant celebrations stirred the Molineux crowd, fueling Wolves’ response. Rayan Ait-Nouri’s brilliant run set up Cunha, who equalized with a sharp finish inside the box, adding extra spice with a gesture towards Jackson.
Palmer put Chelsea back in front with a clever 30-yard lob after spotting Wolves’ goalkeeper Jose Sa off his line.
Wolves leveled again just before halftime, with Jorgen Strand Larsen poking home from close range after a free-kick was squared back across the goal.
However, the second half belonged to Madueke, who netted three nearly identical goals in a 14-minute span, each assisted by Palmer, with low angled shots from inside the area.
Joao Felix capped off the victory late on, side-footing the ball high into the net from near the penalty spot after a pass from substitute and former Wolves winger, Pedro Neto.
