The Governor of Ogun State, Dapo Abiodun, on Thursday, declared his intention to run for a second term in office.
The Governor, in a statement, said he would be running for re-election alongside his Deputy, Noimot Oyedele.
He said, “Today, I formally declared my intention to run for a second term in office, and I also announced that I will be running with my deputy, Noimot Salako Oyedele.”
Abiodun made the declaration during the presentation of the nomination form to him by the ‘DA Mandate Group.’
Russian strikes slammed into central Kyiv on Thursday as the United Nations Secretary-General, Antonio Guterres, was visiting, wounding three, the mayor said.
Journalists saw a building in flames and black smoke pouring into the air with a heavy presence of police and rescuers in the area, a residential neighbourhood on the western side of the city.

A Peoples Democratic Party governorship aspirant in Rivers State, Farah Dagogo, has been arrested by a team of policemen on Thursday evening.

The Governor of the state, Nyesom Wike, in a statement by his media aide, Kelvin Ebiri has alleged that Hon. Dagogo led suspected cultists to disrupt the screening of National Assembly and State House of Assembly screening on Wednesday, but Dagogo had since denied the allegation.

Operatives of the Nigerian Police, Delta state command, have arrested three suspects with assorted drugs during a raid of a criminal hideout at Azugwu street, Umuonicha quarters in Ogwuash-Uku, headquarters of Aniocha south council area of the state.
The suspects include a 20-year-old Izuagbe Theophilus, Okofu Henry, 22, and Confidence Ugochukwu, a 19-year-old girl.
