The chief spokesperson for the Labour Party Presidential Campaign Council, Yunusa Tanko, on Thursday, led a delegation of supporters on a peaceful protest in Abuja against alleged underage voters and other discrepancies reported in the newly released register of the Independent National Electoral Commission.

Former President, Olusegun Obasanjo, has advised some Lagos street boys popularly known as “area boys” brought to him by a renowned female talking drummer, Aralola Olamuyiwa, for mentorship to rediscover themselves.
The renowned female talking drummer, popularly known as Ara, took some repentant area boys and girls to Obasanjo’s penthouse residence, Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The project was facilitated through the support of the Lagos State Government on the project tagged ‘Eko Inspire Me’ with a view to taking the beneficiaries off the streets.
The area boys and girls in the mentoring session told the former president some of the challenges they were facing.
While advising them, Obasanjo told the beneficiaries how he had faced tough challenges at different times before getting to the top and that God didn’t create them as street boys or girls. He said they would need to rediscover themselves.
He said, “God has not created them as street boys and girls. That’s the first thing.
“Secondly, as we have heard from them, they also knew when something snapped in their lives and what went wrong. So the process of rediscovering themselves has started within them.”
The Senate on Thursday took up the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.), on the insertion of N11 billion in the proposed 2023 budget of the Defence Ministry.
The Senate Committee on Defence uncovered the N11bn difference in the 2023 budget of the ministry during the defence of the entire proposals of the minister.
The N11bn extra as observed and pointed out by the Vice Chairman of the committee, Senator Itsifanus Gyang (PDP Plateau North), comprises of N8.6bn earmarked for the procurement of military hardware /equipment and N2.25bn for Safe School Initiatives.
He said, “Hon Minister, in the proposed 2023 budget of your Ministry N8.6bn is discovered to have been allocated for the purchase of military hardware and N2.25bn for Safe School Initiatives.

As COP27 ends on Friday, the Global Climate and Health Alliance has charged countries to set up a Loss and Damage fund under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC).
The coalition comprises more than 130 organizations from around the world, committed to tackling climate change and protecting public health.
While the G77 and China are keen to agree on the establishment of a fund at COP27, Canada, the European Union (UN), and the United States (US) are pushing for a further two years to review the context.
Jeni Miller, Executive Director of the coalition, warned that a two-year delay to assess whether or not to create a dedicated Loss and Damage fund would be unacceptable.
