1. Oyegun’s ex-aide dumps APC
Ray Morphy, a former special adviser to one-time National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress, John Odigie-Oyegun, has dumped the party ahead of the 2023 general election.
Morphy, who announced his resignation in a statement issued on Sunday, disclosed that he was leaving the ruling party to avoid defending what he knew to be a lie.
According to him, he has suddenly come to a realisation after his intellectual, material and financial contributions that he cannot afford to continue with the “comedy of gaffes the APC is trying to sell to Nigerians.”
The APC chieftain was a member of the APC Presidential Council in 2019 and a pioneer member of ‘The Buhari Organisation.’
2. Police nab Lagos man for alleged N5m fraud
Operatives of the Lagos State Environmental and Special Offences Unit, have arrested a suspected fraudster, Adeshola Abiodun, for swindling an unsuspecting real estate developer of N5m meant for the payment of a development levy at the Lagos State Physical Planning Permit Authority.
The agency’s Director, Press and Public Affairs, Gbadeyan Abdulraheem, disclosed this in a statement on Sunday.
Abdulraheem stated that Abiodun had transferred the funds meant for other purposes and generated fake receipts to the victim before being investigated and consequently arrested by the Lagos State Taskforce.
3. Engage govts on education, ABSU VC urges alumni
The Vice-chancellor of the Abia State University, Uturu, Professor Onyemachi Ogbulu, has said alumni associations should engage the Nigerian government on policies that relate to education.
The VC, represented by a professor of Zoology, Abia State University, Solomon Umeham, disclosed this at the seminar of the Abia State University Legends Alumni Association, Lagos Chapter, themed “Role of Alumni Associations in Nigeria’s Education System.”
He said, “The alumni associations should seriously be looking at ways to engage government on policies that relate to education. For instance, during the long Academic Staff Union of Universities/Federal Government impasse, not much was heard of our alumni associations, even in their universities.
“They could engage both parties on ways of finding a lasting solution to the protracted industrial action that paralysed the education system. As the conflict gathers momentum again, not many have spoken up jointly or individually despite the high positions most of us occupy.

4. Tinubu: Votes from one Kano LG more than entire South-East, says commissioner
Kano State Commissioner for Information, Muhammad Garba, has said the state will vote massively for the All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, as just one local government can provide votes larger than that of the entire South-East.
Garba also predicted that there would be repeat of history in the 2023 general elections, as Tinubu will defeat his NNPP counterpart, a former governor of the state, Rabiu Kwankwaso, just like MKO Abiola defeated Bashir Tofa in 1993.
Garba spoke at a lecture organided by Kaduna State chapter of the League of Veteran Journalists, with the theme: “Let’s Talk Nigeria” in collaboration with Arewa House and Hamdala Hotel
5. NIPSS: Buhari assures of timely implementation of report
President Muhammadu Buhari has assured graduands of the Senior Executive Course 44 at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies, NIPSS that the findings and recommendations contained in their recently submitted report would be attended to and applied by his government for the good of the country.
SEC 44, 2022 worked on the theme: Strengthening local governance in Nigeria: Challenges, options, and opportunities.
The President challenged the National Institute to strive to be or even surpass the best think-tank amongst policy institutions in the world as his administration would continue to give the Institute the needed support to deliver on its mandate.
6. Tinubu presidency’ll give youths sense of belonging — Lagos One Day govs
Beneficiaries of Lagos State One Day Governors, a pet project of Senator Mrs Oluremi Tinubu, have urged youths in the country to vote All Progressives Congress, APC, Presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu as his presidency will give youths a real sense of belonging and integrated participation.
One Day Governor emerges from the Spelling Bee school competition, launched in 2001, through the New Era Foundation, founded by Remi Tinubu during the administration of her husband as the then-governor of the state.
Since 2015, the State Government has taken full charge of the programme, collaborating with partners and stakeholders to further help realize its objectives.

7. Sanwo-Olu may deliver Blue line rail before Christmas
Baring last minute changes, Lagos Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu may give Lagosians a huge and unexpected Christmas gift.
Though it is coming 11 years behind schedule, Governor Sanwo-Olu in accordance with his promise in February last year, will hand over the Blue Line rail system as a Christmas gift to Lagosians.
Already, ahead of the proposed handover, the Blue line is said to be undergoing massive test run by the contractor’s team of engineers, to attest to its stability and readiness for commercial operation.
Work started on the Blue line in 2006 as a world bank assisted project. It was inherited by Governor Babatunde Fashola who made it a priority project and took it to about 80 percent completion when he left office in 2015.
8. ‘My life threatened for exposing irregularities in Adeleke’s certificate’
An ex-officer of Department of State Services (DSS) and chieftain of Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) in Osun State, Akin Adeyi has petitioned the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone XI over alleged threat to life by loyalists of Governor Ademola Adeleke.
The Nation recalled the restaurant of Adeyi along Ring road, Osogbo was demolished under the supervision of a popular chieftain of PDP and men wearing police uniforms on Saturday.
The PDP chieftain, in a petition titled, “Re: Threat to my life- Save my soul” addressed to the police which was copied DSS, noted that he has petitioned the agencies before over threat to his life.
According to him: “I am compelled to write for the second time in this year to seek for the protection of the Osun State police command and the DSS over several sponsored assaults and threat to my life by some privileged people in the state.

9. Oil can’t feed Nigeria anymore – Obasanjo
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has said oil and gas can no longer feed Nigeria, considering the nation’s growing population.
Obasanjo disclosed this at the weekend, when the leaders of the apex socio-cultural group in Tiv land of Benue State, Mzough U Tiv (MUT) paid him an appreciation visit at his OOPL Penthouse residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
According to a statement made available to DAILY POST by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, Obasanjo charged Nigerians to see the country as being for all, “to save it and restore it to what God has created it to be.”
Obasanjo declared that “only farming and agric business can tackle the nation’s growing population.”
10. APC rescued Nigeria from disintegration despite serious security challenges – Ex-Zamfara Gov, Shinkafi
Former Governor of Zamfara State, Alhaji Mahmud Aliyu Shinkafi, has lamented that Nigeria is facing serious security challenges and is about to hit the rock due to insurgency in almost all parts of the country.
Shinkafi disclosed this during the flag-off of Senator Sahabi Ya’u Kaura’s senatorial campaign at Kaura Namoda town, the headquarters of Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the state on Sunday, 4th November 2022, on the platform of the All Progressives Congress (APC).
According to him, the present APC administration had prevented the country from disintegration, saying that Nigerians should endeavour to vote back APC so as to complete the work it started in 2015 when President Muhammadu Buhari was voted into power.
