1. #NigeriaElections2023: INEC rejects Okowa’s LG results for over-voting

The Independent National Electoral Commission in Delta State has rejected the presidential results of the local government area of the vice presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party and governor of the state, Ifeanyi Okowa, citing over-voting.

2. #NigeriaElection2023: INEC cancels two Ekiti election results, Melaye demands explanation

The Independent National Electoral Commission on Sunday evening announced that the election results of two units in Ekiti were cancelled for over-voting and bypassing the Bimodal Voter Accreditation System.

The report was filed by INEC State Collation Officer for Presidential Election, Prof Akeem Lasisi, shortly after the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Asiwaju Bola Tinubu, was declared as the winner of Saturday’s presidential election in Ekiti.

Tinubu polled, 201,494 votes to defeat his counterpart in the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, who scored 89,554 votes.

Peter Obi of the Labour Party emerged third with 11,397 votes while Musa Kwankwaso of the New Nigeria Peoples Party polled 264 votes.

3. NigeriaElections2023: Ohanaeze warns against manipulation of election results

The apex Igbo socio-cultural organisation, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, has warned the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof Mahmood Yakubu, against the manipulation of the results of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections to favour a particular candidate against the wishes of the electorate.

Ohanaeze gave the warning in a statement on Sunday, saying that the manipulation of election results is an invitation for anarchy as Nigerians would not accept anything less than to ensure that their votes count.

The Igbo apex body, in the statement signed by the National Publicity Secretary, Dr Alex Ogbonnia, said that the reported irregularities across the country especially in Lagos, Delta, five South-East states, Rivers and a host of other states smacked betrayal and trust of Nigerians on the electoral process.

Ohanaeze said, “Professor Yakubu is reminded that Nigerians went into this election based on his assurances that the deployment of BVAS by INEC was a perfect antidote to electoral malpractices in Nigeria.

5. APC declares polls successful, says delay in results upload not unusual

The All Progressives Congress APC Presidential Campaign Council PCC has declared Saturday’s Presidential election as hugely successful, warning the opposition Peoples Democratic Party PDP and Labour Party LP not to disrupt the process, but to allow the electoral umpire to conclude its assignment.

According to the council, there was nothing strange in the late upload of results to the result viewing portal of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC, saying technical glitches and the late start to the polls are enough reasons.

Director, of Media and Publicity at the APC Presidential Campaign Council, Mr Bayo Onanuga disclosed this in a late-Sunday statement issued in Abuja.

6. 2023 Elections: Sabotage not responsible for slow portal  – INEC

The Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC said sabotage is not responsible for the problems encountered with its results viewing Portal (IReV).

INEC National Commissioner and Chairman, Information and Voter Education Committee, Festus Okoye, stated this in Abuja on Sunday.

Okoye acknowledged that the commission was aware of challenges with the IReV.

According to him, unlike in off-season elections where the portal was used, it has been relatively slow and unsteady.
