1. Enugu PDP deputy gov candidate accused of threatening priests
The deputy governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Mr Ifeanyi Ossia has been accused of threatening Catholic priests in Enugu North senatorial district for preaching against bad leadership and asking people not vote for people who have been using government machinery to terrorise the people in the state.
Our correspondent gathered that a few days before the election, some armed thugs invaded several Catholic church parishes in Nsukka and threatened Reverend fathers and their parishioners over their choice to vote against the candidates of PDP.
Since the incident, neither the PDP nor the government of Enugu State had condemned the invasion and the attacks on the religious leaders.
One of the affected Catholic priests who didn’t want to be named because his bishop hasn’t authorised him to speak to the press, said “the state governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi has approached the church leadership to douse the tension. However, the deputy governorship candidate is yet to apologize.
2. Niger police raid APC Situation Room
The Situation Room of the All Progressive Congress governorship candidate, Umar Bago, was raided by the Niger State Police Command in Minna on Sunday.
According to the Director of digital and strategic communications of the Bago campaign organisation, Abdulberqy Ebbo, who spoke to our correspondent after a post on Facebook, said the police came into the building and ransacked the situation room saying they were acting on a tip off from some people.
He said the Divisional Police Officer who led the search said he was reliably informed that officials of the Independent Electoral Commission were in the building with sensitive materials thumb printing ahead of the Saturday elections in favor of the APC.
“I got a call that the Situation Room was being searched by the police. I rushed there and asked the DPO what was going on and he said they were informed that INEC staff were in the Situation Room thumbprinting ahead of the governorship elections of Saturday.
3. Raphinha header helps 10-man Barca beat Valencia

5. Atiku, Obi rejected election results to create chaos in Nigeria – Osoba
Former governor of Ogun State, Chief Olusegun Osoba on Sunday said the rejection of the 2023 presidential election results by the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Atiku Abubakar, and his counterpart in the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi is an attempt by the duo to create chaos in Nigeria.
Osoba who made the revelation in an interview he granted on Journalist Hangout, a programme on Television Continental (TVC), posited the candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) Bola Tinubu clearly won the presidential poll, stressing that the election is one of the most peaceful ever conducted in Nigeria.
He added that Nigerians are wiser and would not allow themselves to be instigated or provoked into turning the country on fire while urging the aggrieved candidates to present specific and not random information to back their claims.
Answering a question on Atiku, Obi’s rejection of the election results for the 2023 presidential election, Osoba said, “It is an attempt to draw us back, and create chaos within the system. They all have the results of the elections signed by their agents all over the country, they know very well what happened. To now claim that they won the election that is a disappointment to me; I can assure you, Nigerians are wiser now, and nobody will be instigated or provoked into turning this country on fire. “
6. Higher position is call to service – Osinbajo
Vice President Yemi Osinbajo says appointment to an important position is a high call to service and responsibility to God and the people.
Osinbajo’s spokesman, Laolu Akande, in a statement on Sunday in Abuja, said the vice president was as Special Guest of Honour at the Enthronement Service of the new Methodist Archbishop of Abuja, the Most Rev. Michael Akinwale.
The service was held at the Methodist Cathedral of Unity in the FCT.
The church service also featured the presentation of Sir Kayode Beckley as the new Methodist Church Diocesan and Archdiocesan Lay President.

7. FG approves N308.45bn promissory notes to exporting coys
The Federal Government has approved the disbursement of N308, 458, 160, 546.41 worth of Promissory Notes to 199 exporting companies under the Export Expansion Grant (EEG) Scheme.
The Executive Director/CEO, Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC), Dr. Ezra Yakusak while issuing letters to some beneficiaries of the scheme in Abuja commended the government and the National Assembly for the prompt response in approving the payment of the outstanding claims to the beneficiaries.
“The sum of N193, 456, 239, 386.40 was approved for 133 beneficiaries of the scheme in respect of EEG outstanding claims for the period of 2017 to 2020 while the sum of N108, 317, 269, 008.76 was approved for 35 beneficiaries in respect of EEG backlogs of claims for the period of 2007 to 2016 respectively.
8. 26-year-old on bike from Kastina to Lagos to congratulate Tinubu
A26-year-old biker Gaddafi Musa is on a journey from Katsina to Lagos State to congratulate President-Elect, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
Musa, who was at Ilorin around 4.30 pm on Sunday, said that he had begun his journey on Wednesday morning when most of the Statessubmitted their results and all indications pointed that Tinubu would win the election.
According to him, he embarked on the journey to fulfill the promise he made to congratulate President-elect on his bicycle in his residence in Lagos State.
