The Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun, on Friday, said his administration will soon take delivery of drones that will be deployed particularly on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

Men of the Ogun State Police Command have arrested two brothers, Ayomide Babatunde and Gbenga Babatunde, for allegedly kidnapping a woman and her nine-year-old son for ritual purpose.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state, Abimbola Oyeyemi, disclosed this on Friday in a statement.
Oyeyemi said the suspects were arrested on Friday, following an information received by policemen at Oja-Odan divisional headquarters.

Hundreds of stranded residents whose houses were destroyed in a fire outbreak in Elekahia Community, Port Harcourt Local Government Area of Rivers State are calling on Governor Nyesom Wike to assist them.
The fire occured at about 8:30am on Friday, following a suspected kerosene explosion which razed houses and property worth several millions of naira in the densely populated area.
It was gathered that the fire became worse when gas cylinders in the homes of some of the affected persons exploded, spreading the fire faster to other areas, displacing about 200 residents.
As the inferno raged, youths and other residents in the area hurriedly mixed water and detergents to try to stop it from spreading, even as distressed calls was made to the fire service.

Delta state Police command has rescued a kidnapped victim in Warri axis while one of the kidnappers was shot dead during an exchange of gunfire between men of the command and the kidnappers.
Police spokesman in the state, DSP, Edafe Bright in a statement said the Agbarho Divisional Police Officer swung into action immediately he got a distress call that somebody was kidnapped in Ugborikoko area and one of the kidnappers was heading to Agbarho in the victim’s vehicle.

Osun State Sector Command of Federal Road Safety Commission, FRSC, on Friday says 81 persons were killed in 313 road traffic crashes in Osun State between January and November 2022.
The Sector Commander in the state, Paul John Okpe while speaking with newsmen in Osogbo, the state capital said 244 sustained various degrees of injuries in the crashes.

Kaduna State Governor Nasir El-Rufai has signed the 2023 appropriation bill of over N376.4 billion into law.
Commissioner of Budget and Planning, Hajiya Umma Aboki, disclosed this to newsmen in Kaduna on Thursday.
She said that the budget prioritized the health and education sectors with an allocation of 43.70 per cent, explaining that 15.70 per cent was for Health and 28 per cent for Education.
“This is consistent with the State Government’s commitment to allocate a minimum of 15 per cent and 25 per cent of its total annual budget respectively to Health and Education,’’ she said.
The Akwa Ibom State Police Command on Friday paraded one Akaninyene Sunday Okokon who allegedly beat his 16-year-old daughter to death for using his phone to call her boyfriend.
Commissioner of Police Olatoye Durosinmi in a press conference at the command’s headquarters in Ikot Akpanabia, Uyo, Akwa Ibom State capital, said: “On 11th December 2022, relying on credible information, operatives of Ikot Ebo Divisional Headquarters arrested Akaninyene Sunday Okokon who beat up his daughter, Abasiono Akaninyene Sunday, age 16, for using his SIM card to call her boyfriend. The victim fainted and was rushed to a prayer house at Ikot Iya village instead of being taken to a hospital.”
The suspect during an interview admitted to the crime.
Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore, a Fulani socio-cultural group on Friday, endorsed Bola Tinubu, the presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC.
The group also endorsed the Nasarawa State governor, Abdullahi Sule, for a second term.
National president of the group, Alh. Abdullahi Bello Bodejo made this known during a press briefing on Friday.
According to him, the endorsement followed the track records of the two APC candidates in the offices they had occupied in the past.
