1. Danger is building up in Nigeria, Obasanjo raises alarm
Former President Olusegun Obasanjo has raised the alarm that danger is lurking around the country over the alleged compromise of the ongoing election process.
Obasanjo appealed to the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari (retd), to prevail on the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Mahmood Yakubu, to stop the process and rectify the allegations raised against it from many quarters.
The presidential and National Assembly elections were held on Saturday and the collation of results was being done at the National Collation Centre in Abuja.
2. #NigeriaDecides2023: AU, ECOWAS urge INEC to ensure quick upload of results
The African Union and Economic Community of West African States Observation Missions have urged the Independent National Electoral Commission to quickly upload election results on its portal.
This was as they said that the quick uploading will ensure credible conclusions of the electoral process.
The leader of the AU delegation, former President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta, and the former President of Sierra Leone and leader of the ECOWAS delegation, Ernest Koroma, briefed on the preliminary report of the elections on Monday.
3. #NigeriaElections2023: Thugs invade Plateau INEC collation centre, disrupt results announcement
Suspected thugs on Monday evening invaded the Jos North Local Government Area of Plateau State, venue of the collation centre for presidential and National Assembly elections in the Northern Senatorial district of the state.
It was gathered that the thugs chased away the INEC officials before they could conclude their assignment.
An official of the Jos North LGA who witnessed the disruption at the collation centre confirmed the development to a radio station, Jay FM, in Jos.

4. APC lifts suspension on National Vice Chairman North-East
The All Progressives Congress (APC), has lifted the suspension placed on Mr Salihu Mustapha, its National Vice Chairman, North-East.
Mr Abdulkadir Abdullahi, the APC Rumde Ward Chairman in Adamawa stated this at a news conference on Monday in Yola.
“We have lifted the early suspension slammed on Comrade Mustapha Salihu, North-East National Vice Chairman of the party.
5. Kebbi South: PDP floors incumbent Sen Bala Ibn Na’Allah
The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) senatorial candidate for Kebbi South, Alhaji Garba Maidoki, has defeated incumbent Sen. Bala Ibn Na’Allah of All Progressives Congress (APC) for Kebbi South Senatorial District.
Declaring the winner at Zuru, the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC) Returning Officer, Prof. Ahmed Balarabe, said the PDP candidate scored 75,232 to defeat his closest rival, Na’Allah who got 70,785 votes.
He said: “By the power vested on me as the Returning Officer of this election, I declare Garba Musa Maidoki as the winner of the Senatorial election for Kebbi South Senatorial District haven scored the highest number of votes and certified the requirement of the law.”
6. Shun violence, remain peaceful, Jandor tells Lagos residents
The Lagos PDP governorship candidate, Dr Abdul-Azeez Adediran (Jandor), says there should be no reason for violence in any part of the state following the outcome of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
Adediran made the call in a statement by Mr Gbenga Ogunleye, the Head, Media and Communications, JANDOR4GOVERNOR Campaign Organisation, on Monday in Lagos.
The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) reports that the collated results on Monday in the state favoured the Labour Party as against the ruling All Progressives Congress.
