The newly appointed Osun State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Sunday Faleye, on Monday, said there would be no hiding place for criminals under his watch.
Faleye, during his maiden interview with journalists in Osogbo, subsequently asked criminals living in the state to immediately relocate.
The Ekiti-born police boss, who also told inter-state criminals coming to Osun that they would not be spared, said the Command would leave no stone unturned in riding the state of crimes.

The Governor of Bayelsa State, Douye Diri, has again expressed dissatisfaction with the Federal Government’s lackluster support to the state to cushion the effect of the devastating floods.

Police Command in Bauchi has arrested 68 years old traditional title holder of Galadiman Dass for alleged culpable homicide in Yelwa suburb of Bauchi Metropolis.
The spokesperson of the command, SP Ahmed Wakil, stated this in a statement on Monday in Bauchi.
He said the suspected traditional title holder, Alhaji Mohammmed Damina, (Galadiman Dass) was arrested for alleged murder of 67 years old Alhaji Adamu Babanta in a fatal motor accident.
“Yesterday, 30th October 2022, at about 19:30hrs, a case of fatal motor accident was transferred from the Yelwa Division for a discreet investigation, it was a case of culpable homicide.
The Nigeria Centre for Disease Control and Prevention (NCDC) has issued a public health advisory following the declaration of an Ebola virus disease outbreak in Uganda.
The advisory is contained in a statement issued by the Director-General, of NCDC, Dr Ifedayo Adetifa, on Monday.
Recall that as of Oct.29, 2022, the Uganda Ministry of Health had reported 128 confirmed cases and 34 deaths.
Adetifa said that the agency has been aware of the ongoing outbreak of the Sudan strain Ebola virus disease (EVD) in Uganda since it was first officially declared on September 20, 2022.
The House of Representatives ad hoc committee investigating the structure and accountability of the Joint Venture (JV) businesses and production sharing contracts (PSCS) of the Nigerian Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) has accused oil companies of tax evasion.
Rep. Abubakar Fulata, the Chairman of the committee said this in Abuja on Monday during the committee’s meeting with stakeholders at the National Assembly.
He said that the committee relying on sections 88 and 89 of the 1999 Constitution would direct police and other security agencies to compel the heads of organisations who failed to make their submission in respect of the ongoing investigation.
Fulata said tax evasion by the oil companies particularly, the International Oil Companies (IOC) had deprived government of revenue in the country.
Rivers Governor Nyesom Wike has declared that the State is yet to decide who it will support for the presidency in 2023.
The Governor also chided a former Minister of Transport and Rivers Director, Atiku Supporters, Dr. Abiye Sekibo, saying he lacks the capacity to speak for the people of the State.
Wike declared that the Rivers PDP governorship candidate, all the House of Representatives, Senate and House of Assembly candidates would win in the 2023 general elections.
He however disclosed that the State was yet to determine what to do concerning the presidential election.
“PDP will win our State. I am not hiding it as far as the governorship, House of Reps, Senate and State Assembly are concerned. The other one we have not decided until the right thing is done,” he said.
There is heightened security at the National Assembly Complex in Abuja on Monday as security agents and the Sergeant-at-Arms Department stopped and searched every vehicle entering the premises.
There were no exceptions and the exercise led to long queues of vehicles at the entrances into the Complex.
Several visitors and others without valid identification cards were turned back from entering the Complex.
Combined teams of security forces were strategically positioned within and around the Complex.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ogun State has asked the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Independent Corrupt Practices Commission (ICPC) to investigate one of its governorship aspirants, Jimi Lawal, for allegedly forging the delegates list presented to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the 2023 governorship primary election.
The PDP also accused Lawal of committing the alleged forgery in connivance with some top officials of INEC, saying the aim was to “deceive, manipulate and misrepresent facts.”
DAILY POST reports that Lawal had earlier on May 25, rejected a delegates list used by the party’s electoral committee for the governorship primary in Ogun, saying there was a list certified by the INEC.

The deceased are Archbishop of Lagos Province, Anglican Communion and Bishop of Lagos Diocese, Most Reverend Humphrey Olumakaiye and Bishop of Ndokwa Diocese, Rev’d David Obiosa.
Olumakaiye gave up the ghost at the age of 53.
His death was announced by the Synod Secretary, Segun Ladeinde and Chancellor, Justice Adedayo Oyebanji.
A statement co-signed by Ladeinde and Oyebanji said the details of his burial would be made public soon.
The statement reads: “His Episcopal sojourn in the Diocese of Lagos and subsequently the Province was characterised by phenomenal, physical and spiritual developments, for which all of us shall remain very proud.”
