1. NPC server not hacked – Official
The Federal Commissioner of the National Population Commission in Kogi State, Prof. Habibat Isah, has assured that no one would ever be able to hack into the server of the commission being prepared for use for the 2023 Population and Housing census.
He also debunked the rumours that the server was hacked even though there were several attempts by hackers to do so.
“As against the lies and rumours that have been peddled, the National Population Commission server has never been hacked because we have never rested and we won’t rest until the programme becomes successful,” he said.
2. Nigerian maritime industry large enough to engage teeming youths – NIMASA DG
The Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency, Dr. Bashir Jamoh, has said the maritime industry is large enough to adequately engage the teeming youths in the country.
He added that there are enormous opportunities in the Nigerian maritime industry that youths could take advantage of to generate foreign earnings.
The NIMASA boss stated this on Tuesday at the Maritime House, Apapa, Lagos State, while receiving the Interim Administrator of the Presidential Amnesty Programme, Major General Barry Ndiomu (retd.).

The zone seems to have become a tool in the hand of desperate politicians to bargain for their selfish interests without considering the overall interest of the Esan people who make up the zone. The best the zone has produced is the position of the Speaker of the state House of Assembly, while political parties, over the years have shunned candidates aspiring for the governorship position from the area.

4. “Pan” Enahoro’s death, colossal loss to journalism – Sanwo-Olu
Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has mourned the passage of renowned columnist and former Editor-in-Chief of the Daily Times, Peter Enahoro, describing it as colossal loss to journalism and the media industry in Nigeria.
Sanwo-Olu, in a condolence message issued on Tuesday, by his Chief Press Secretary, Gboyega Akosile, said the death of the ace columnist, popularly known as “Peter Pan” because of his column in New African Magazine, “is painful and heartbreaking.”
Peter Enahoro, a well-celebrated journalist, author, businessman and publisher, died on Tuesday in London at the age of 88 years.
Sanwo-Olu said the rich experience and knowledge of the late Enahoro, described as “perhaps Africa’s best-known international journalist” would be sorely missed.
5. Gov. Abiodun appoints new Permanent Secretary, Board Secretary SUBEB
Ogun State Governor Dapo Abiodun has approved the appointment of Mr Wasiu Kuye as a Permanent Secretary in the state civil service.
Also appointed is Mukaila Adebola Lawal as Board Secretary for the State Universal Basic Education Board.
This was contained in a statement by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Kunle Somorin in Abeokuta.
