1. Adeleke urges Osun workers to be dedicated
Osun State Governor, Senator Ademola Adeleke, has urged workers in the state to be dedicated to their duties.
Adeleke also assured them that no one would be denied of their entitlements by his administration.
The governor disclosed this at the swearing-in ceremony of the newly appointed Head of Service, Mr Samuel Aina, at the Government Secretariat in Osogbo on Tuesday.
A statement by the spokesperson to the governor, Olawale Rasheed, also said Adeleke projected a new lease of life for workers in the state under his administration.
2. Chatham House: APC ‘window-dressing’ Tinubu – Dele Momodu
The Director, Strategic Communications of the National Election Management Committee of the Peoples Democratic Party, Chief Dele Momodu, Tuesday, chided the All Progressives Congress presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu, over what he called his less than impressive engagement with his audience at the Chatham House, United Kingdom, on Monday.
Momodu said chieftains of the APC were ‘window-dressing’ Tinubu on a global stage.
Tinubu’s performance has continued to draw mixed reactions, particularly from the opposition parties who were left unimpressed by the candidate’s decision to throw some of the questions he was asked to the APC chieftains including the Kaduna State governor, Mallam Nasir El-Rufai, and immediate past governor of Ekiti State, Kayode Fayemi.
In a piece titled, “Weep not for Tinubu but Nigeria,’ Momodu slammed the handlers of the former Lagos state governor for causing the nation a huge embarrassment on a global stage.

4. eNaira transactions hit N8bn – CBN
The Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, has revealed that the eNaira application has so far recorded a total digital transaction valued at about N8 billion as at the end of October, 2022.
Recall that the eNaira was launched on the 25th of October, 2021 by President Muhammadu Buhari, under the slogan: “Same Naira, More Possibilities” thereby listing Nigeria as the first country in Africa and one of the pioneer countries in the world to develop an official digital currency.
The Director of Information Technology, CBN Hajiya Rakiyat Mohammed who made the disclosure on Monday at the Presentation and Unboarding of e-Naira session during the Second Africa Payment Systems Conference in Abuja went further to state that customers who are currently on the eNaira platform will at the moment continue to enjoy seamless peer to peer transactions are at no charge.
Represented by the Deputy Director Information Technology of CBN, Abayomi Oyeleke, said that Nigerians who buy into the e-naira platform stand to gain a lot benefits including real-time transactions on a secured digital wallet with zero down time adding that the project is supported with a very resilient blockchain technology.
5. Brain drain in medical sector, a disaster waiting to happen – Gani Adams
The Aareonakakanfo of Yoruba land, Iba Gani Adams, on Tuesday, urged the Federal Government to save the medical sector from imminent collapse, saying the present brain drain in the sector is like a disaster that is waiting to happen.
Adams said this at the 2022 edition of Elegbara Festival held in Shasha, Lagos.
He bemoaned the plight of the Nigerian doctors that have been leaving the country in droves.
6. Again, Reps approve Peace Corps establishment bill
House of Representatives, Tuesday, passed a bill to establish the Nigeria Peace Corps.
The Corps is to essentially facilitate peace and the security of local communities and neighbourhoods.
It will be recalled that both chambers of the National Assembly, the House and the Senate had in 2017, passed the Nigerian Peace Corps Establishment Bill 2016.
But President Muhammad Buhari withheld his assent to the Bill, saying there was no money for such establishment and there was a duplication of functions of conventional security agencies

7. Buhari off to Guinea-Bissau Wednesday
President Muhammadu Buhari will on Wednesday in Bissau, Guinea Bissau be decorated with the country’s highest honour in recognition of his contributions to the political stability of the West African nation.
This was contained in a statement on Tuesday by his Senior Special Assistant on Media and Publicity, Mallam Garba Shehu.
Buhari will honour the invitation of Guinea Bissau President, Umaro Sissolo Embalo for the special ceremony at the Presidential Villa, which will include the commissioning of a road named after him at the capital city.
8. 2023 polls will be free, fair, Buhari assures
President Muhammadu Buhari Tuesday has reiterated the 2023 general elections would be free, fair and credible. He said his administration will not allow manipulations of any form.
According to a statement by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr Femi Adesina, the President spoke while playing host to West African Elders Forum Pre-Election Mediation Mission, led by former Sierra Leonean President, Dr. Ernest Bai Koroma, at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.
“Thank you for accepting to do this service for our sub-region,” the President told his guests, citing off-season elections held in Anambra, Ekiti and Osun States, as pointer to the fact that the Federal Government would allow people to choose leaders they want.

9. Wike: Supreme Court dismisses alleged DSS interrogation of CJN
The Supreme Court on Tuesday evening in Abuja, dismissed an insinuation that the Chief Justice of Nigeria, CJN, Olukayode Ariwoola was subjected to Interrogation by the Department of the State Service DSS over alleged pro-Wike political remarks.
The Apex Court also debunked claims that five Justices of the Court have demanded resignation from office by CJN over the same issue.
In a statement by the Director of Information and Press of the Court, Dr Festus Akande, the Apex Court warned those peddling the rumours to desist in their own interests.
The reaction of the Supreme Court is in response to a publication by an online medium, “People’s Gazette,” which reported that Justice Ariwoola has been grilled by DSS over his alleged political remarks in Port Harcourt at a public function.
10. World Cup: Just a counter team – Louis van Gaal dismisses Brazil
The Netherlands, manager Louis van Gaal, has dismissed Brazil as ‘just a counter team’.
This is despite the South Americans blowing away South Korea 4-1 in a Round of sixteen game on Monday
