EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde, has appealed to those who contested the 2023 governorship election with him to support his administration in the state.
Recall that Makinde was re-elected into office last week after emerging victorious in the March 18 governorship election in the state.
At the polls on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and defeated his closest rival from the All Progressives Congress (APC), Teslim Folarin.
Makinde polled 563,756 votes to defeat Folarin who scored 256,685 votes and Accord party candidate, Adebayo Adelabu who scored 38,357 votes to emerge 3rd in the election conducted in all 33 local government areas of Oyo State.
Speaking during a radio programme monitored on Saturday, Makinde noted that the need for Folarin, Adelabu and other constants to join hands with him was necessary in order to move the state to greater heights.
He described his victory during the election as a victory for the people of the state, adding that he is open to working with the ideas of his co-contestants wherever they are found to be superior to his.
“The issue of the electioneering campaign is behind us now and we are to battle the issue of governance now.
“This is our state and commonwealth and we must make sure we move our state forward
“I also want to thank the political parties that collapsed their structures to support me,” he said.
