Makinde Requests Confirmation Of Commissioner Nominee, Sends Letter To Oyo Assembly
The Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde on Monday, forwarded the name of a Commissioner nominee for the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport to the State House of Assembly.
Ekohotblog gathered that Makinde nominated Alhaji Lawal Ismail Ayansiju for the position at the Ministry of Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport.
Ekohotblog also gathered that Makinde forwarded the name of the new Commissioner to the State House of Assembly on Monday in a letter.
The Governor said the appointment was to fill the vacuum created in the Ministry since the termination of the appointment of Professor Raphael Afonja.

“I wish to inform the Honorable House that another personality considered suitable to serve as Honorable Commissioner for Public Works, Infrastructure and Transport, had been decided in the person of Alh Lawal Ismail Ayansiju. On this basis, the Rt Hon Speaker and other Honorable members are, therefore, requested to kindly screen and consider his appointment as the Commissioner,” the Governor said.
Responding to the letter by the Governor, the Speaker, Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon Adebo Ogundoyin said the screening of the commissioner-designate would be done before the House goes on recess.
Ogundoyin, thereafter, directed the Commissioner Nominee to appear before the legislature on the 14th of December, 2020 for screening.
