The Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has quashed the arrest warrant issued against the former Attorney General of the Federation, Mohammed Bello Adoke, and the former Petroleum Minister, Dan Etete over the alleged OPL 245/Malabu scandal.
It could be recalled that the court issued a warrant of arrest and bench warrant for both accused persons on April 17, 2019.
Meanwhile, the court in a new judgment quashed the arrest warrant through Justice Danlami Senchi of the Federal High Court.
Counsel to the plaintiff Mike Ozekhome, argued that the judge was misled by issuing the warrant of arrest for the accused persons. Adding that, the warrant for the former AGF’s arrest was issued without jurisdiction and ought to be set aside.
Mike also prayed the court to strike out his name in the suit the federal government filed against Shell Nigeria Exploration Production Company Limited and 10 others.
