Ekohotblog reports that a man in Iraye Oke, Epe, has reportedly claimed a woman’s Android phone from a local commercial charging spot, leaving the owner in shock.
The incident occurs after the woman had left her phone at the spot to charge, only to discover later that someone else had taken it.

According to the phone’s owner, she had dropped off her Android phone for charging and was given a card tag to get back her phone once it was fully charged.
“I placed the tag in my bag and went home, assuming everything would be fine,” she explained.
Later in the day, the woman sent her daughter to the charging spot to collect the phone.
However, upon arrival, her daughter was informed that a man had already come in with the card tag and collected the phone.
“They told my daughter that a man had come with the tag, paid for the charging, and left with my Android phone,” the woman said, visibly upset.
After searching her bag, the woman noticed that the tag was missing.
“I couldn’t find the tag, which is why I asked my daughter to just describe the phone and pay for the charging,” she added.
Angry by the situation, the woman pleaded for the return of her phone.

“I’ve never witnessed something like this before. I don’t understand how the tag disappeared, but I just want my phone back,” she said, appealing to the public for assistance in locating the man who took the device.
Local residents have raised concerns over the security measures at commercial charging spots.
Mr. Ojo a resident, lamented “This situation is alarming. There should be better verification procedures in place for people to get back their phones after charging.
It’s not enough to hand over phones just because someone presents a tag.”
Another resident, Mrs. Abike, echoed that there should be a more stricter procedures that should be considered when dealing with people’s properties.
“The charging spot operators need to be more vigilant. We can’t afford to lose valuable items like this. They should ask for additional identification, not just tags.
The woman continues to appeal for the return of her Android phone, as residents of Iraye Oke rally around her, urging for more responsible handling of phones and gadgets at commercial charging stations.
