EDITOR’S PICKS:

She described hearing Uzor shouting “Odogwu, Odogwu” around 10 p.m. on Saturday, which was unusual for the couple.

Despite her efforts to pray for them and subsequent restlessness, she was startled awake at 1 a.m. by her tenant’s cries of “Mummy, I have been killed.”

VICTIM

Nwaiwu saw Uzor attacking his wife through their bedroom window and attempted to alert neighbors by banging on doors and gates, but no one responded.

Uzor then attacked Nwaiwu, injuring her on the hand and face. Nwaiwu managed to lock herself in her house while Uzor fled. Neighbors, alerted by her calls, eventually apprehended him.
