A 44-year-old man, Emeka Sunday, has been arraigned before an Ebute Meta Chief Magistrates’ Court, Lagos, for theft.
The suspect was reported to have stolen 45 liters of diesel worth N7.9 million on May 20 at ABC Engineering Ltd., Apapa, Lagos.

The prosecutor, Insp. Olatunde Kehinde, confirmed the incident to the court.
Kehinde said that the defendant stole the diesel from ABC Engineering Ltd., in contravention of Sections 287 and 411 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2015.
Quoting the constitution, Section 287, the suspect is liable to three years’ jail term for stealing, while Section 411 provides for two years’ imprisonment for stealing.
Sunday was However, charged on two-count (stealing and conspiracy) which he pleaded not guilty.
Delivering judgment, the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. F.M. Kayode-Alamu, adjourned the case until August 3, 2020.
She also admitted the defendant to bail in the sum of N500,000 with two sureties in like sum who are valid taxpayers to the Lagos State Government.
