A man named Rauf Mutiu has been arrested for allegedly plotting to exhume his deceased parents’ remains to facilitate the sale of their house in the Tinumola area of Dada Estate, Osogbo.
Eko Hot Blog gathered that the plan was halted when his siblings intervened, as they had not been informed or included in the decision-making process.
According to reports, Mutiu had already sold the house containing his parents’ grave for N16 million without his siblings’ consent.
Consequently, he spent the remainder of the year in police custody and was still detained as the new year began.
One of the siblings, Rafiu Teslim, expressed his grievances, accusing Mutiu, an ex-policeman and the eldest sibling, of being authoritarian.
Teslim mentioned that Mutiu had threatened to take action against any of his siblings who tried to challenge him regarding their father’s property.
Other siblings, such as Rafiu Kadijat and Adedoyin Rukayat, also voiced their allegations, claiming that Mutiu had collaborated with their second-born sibling to sell their parents’ property and unilaterally attempted to relocate their parents’ remains without consulting the rest of the family.
Osun State Command Police Public Relations Officer Mrs Yemisi Opalola confirmed the suspect’s arrest and disclosed that the investigation was ongoing.
She assured the suspect would be arraigned in the court after investigation.
