EKO HOT BLOG reports that the So-Safe Corps of the Ogun State Government has arrested Rasheed Adesanya for allegedly defiling a nine-year-old minor in the Ijeun Tuntun area of Abeokuta, the state capital.
According to Moruf Yusuf, a spokesman for the So-Safe Corps, the case was reported to the agency’s state headquarters by the victim’s parents.
Yusuf stated that the child’s parents reported seeing their child with blood flowing profusely from her genital, and that the minor had been fingered by the suspect, who is also a co-tenant.
Upon the complaint, the Corps Commander, Soji Ganzallo, had “ordered the arrest of the culprit saying it would serve as a deterrent to others who may have the intent to commit such an act and those who are specialists in doing such for ritual purposes, it was learnt.”
“The suspect was interrogated on the matter while the little girl confirmed that it was true.
“The suspect has been transferred to the Nigeria Police, Ibara Divisional Police Headquarters, with the victim and the parent so as to provide police the necessary information needed to establish the case for further investigation and likely prosecution,” Yusuf explained.
