EKO HOT BLOG reports that Lagos State Police Command has apprehended a security guard following accusations of the sexual assault of a four-year-old girl. The arrest was confirmed by SP Benjamin Hundeyin, the command’s spokesman, via his verified Twitter account on Saturday.
According to Hundeyin, the suspect is currently in police custody and will face legal proceedings.
To secure a conviction, a medical report is being awaited, which will serve as crucial evidence in the case.
The arrest came after a concerned individual, identified as Omolomo and using the Twitter handle @TheVawulence, reported the incident to the police, urging them to take immediate action.
Cases of child abuse and sexual assault against minors have become a growing concern in society. The Lagos State Police Command, however, remains committed to thoroughly investigating such cases based on factual evidence rather than succumbing to emotional responses.
