EKO HOT BLOG reports that renowned football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano confirmed the development on Wednesday via his verified 𝕏 account, revealing that Sangare is set to undergo medical tests before officially joining City’s academy.
“Manchester City have agreed deal to sign 18-year-old striker Mahamadou Sangare from Paris Saint-Germain on a free deal, here we go! Verbal agreement in place, medical to take place, and one more exciting young talent for Man City Academy,” Romano reported.
Sangare, regarded as one of PSG’s emerging prospects, is expected to link up with Manchester City’s youth ranks as the Premier League champions continue their drive to strengthen their future squad.
The move comes at a critical moment in City’s season. Pep Guardiola’s team, currently sitting fourth on the Premier League table, is trailing behind Liverpool, Arsenal, and Newcastle United in the title race.
In a timely boost for the club, key players Erling Haaland and Rodri have returned to training after injury layoffs. Haaland, who had been sidelined with an ankle issue, was seen back on the pitch, and an official update on his availability is expected from Guardiola during Thursday’s press conference.
Meanwhile, Rodri has resumed full training after recovering from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury. Though he participated in Wednesday’s session, sources suggest his return to competitive action is more likely to come during the Club World Cup rather than the FA Cup final or remaining league games.
However, City still face concerns in defence as Nathan Ake and John Stones remain out of action with no immediate return date.
In the transfer market, City are reportedly monitoring FC Porto’s goalkeeper Diogo Costa. The 25-year-old Portuguese international, who has earned 34 caps for his country and is nearing 200 appearances for Porto, is on the radar as a potential long-term replacement or competition for Ederson.
Although Ederson remains a key figure at the Etihad, speculation over his future persists, with clubs from the Saudi Pro League showing continued interest. Costa, represented by super-agent Jorge Mendes—the same agent as Ederson—has emerged as a top target should City decide to make changes in the goalkeeping department this summer.
