Man Commits Suicide In President Buhari’s Hometown
- A man identified as Ibrahim Lawal has committed suicide in President Buhari’s hometown in Katsina State.
A middle-aged man identified as Ibrahim Lawal has committed suicide in Daura, Katsina State, EKO HOT BLOG has gathered.
It was gathered that the man hanged himself in Daura on Sunday.
Daura is the country home of President Muhammadu Buhari.
It was learnt that Lawal was a worker at the Sandamu Local Government Area of the state, but a resident of Daura.
A resident, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said he saw the middle-aged man on Sunday driving his car towards a mechanic workshop.
“I asked whether he was in the neighbourhood to repair his car, but he said no. He did not say anything afterwards; he just walked away,” the resident said.
EKO HOT BLOG gathered that passersby later saw the victim’s lifeless body dangling from a tree, where he had allegedly used a rope to hang himself.

The residents noted that operatives of the Daura Police Division were called to remove the corpse.
It was learnt that Lawal’s remains were later buried in Daura on Sunday according to Islamic rites.
The Katsina State Police Public Relations Officer, SP Gambo Isah, had yet to respond to enquiries on the tragic incident as of the time of writing this report.
