A man suspected to be vandalising an electric transformer belonging to the Benin Electricity Distribution Company (BEDC) in Asaba, the Delta State capital, has been electrocuted.
The deceased, said to be a father of three, was found dead by residents after his failed attempt to vandalise the transformer.
The incident occurred on the night of Sunday, September 22, along the High Court road area of Asaba, but his body was discovered by residents on Monday.

It was gathered that the middle-aged man was a former worker with the electricity distribution company before he was laid off.
Picture of the deceased revealed his remains lying face up inside the building housing the transformer with hand gloves on.
The remains of the man were evacuated by the police from the scene on Monday afternoon.
“The deceased vandal was until his death a husband and father of three children who engaged in unskilled labour to cater for his family. His corpse was discovered on Monday morning by some residents,” a resident disclosed.
