Man Shot Dead During Biden’s Victory Celebration
A yet-to-be-identified gunman has shot a 31-year-old man near a victory celebration for President-elect Joe Biden in downtown Seattle.
The Seatle police stated that the man who was shot around a place known as the notorious Capital Hill Organized Protest (CHOP) zone, was rushed to the city’s Harborview Medical Center but later died as a result of multiple injuries.

The infamous area regarded as the CHOP zone was set up following the police killing of George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Armed protesters erected barriers and set up encampments as they declared it a police-free zone, leading to weeks of violence, looting, and vandalism.
The shooting came after Seattle’s mayor Jenny Durkan dismantled the encampment set up by anti-racism protesters under an executive order while hundreds took to the city’s streets to celebrate Biden’s victory in the Presidential elections.
“Homicide detectives are investigating following the fatal shooting of a 31-year-old man early Sunday morning at 10th Avenue East and East Pike Street,’ Seattle Police Department said in a statement.
“Shortly after 1:00 AM, Seattle Police responded to reports of a shooting at that location. Upon arrival, officers located the male victim and began life-saving measures until the Seattle Fire Department took over primary care.
“The victim was transported to Harborview Medical Center but later succumbed to his injuries,” the police added.
A handgun was reportedly found near the location of the shooting and taken to police. But no suspect has been identified in the murder.
