Thirty-year-old Gerald Offordile allegedly stole his lover’s properties then threatened to publish her nude pictures on social media if she doesn’t give him $2,000.
Offordile, who was docked before a Lagos Magistrate’s Court sitting in Igbosere, resides at 17/19 Matthew Osamiran Street, Ologolo Village, Lekki, Lagos, and is facing a seven-count charge preferred against him by the Police.
Prosecutor, Inspector Francis Igbinosa, told the court that the defendant committed the offences between January 2018 and March 2019.
He said that Offordile, on November 25, 2018, at about 1a.m., stole one Canoon Rebel Digital Camera with model T.7.i valued N504,000, one Samson with model 5, valued N197,000, midea washing machine valued N90,180 and cash sum of N300,000, all property of his lover, Chidera Anyanka.
Igbinosa said the incident took place at 19, Ezekule Street, at Victory Estate, Ago Okota, Lagos, adding that the value of the stolen items is N1,091,180.
The prosecutor also told the court that the defendant on August 10, 2018, at about 11a.m., at 2a, Ibukun Oluwa, Awoshika Street, Chevy view Estate Lekki, did hacked into Anyanka’s US dollars account maintained by Payoneer in USA Bank and stole $1,800(N657,000).
Offordile “between January 8 at 2a.m, and December 2, 2018, about 11:46p.m., at same place, did hacked into Anyanka’s Facebook and Twitter accounts, with intent to annoy in a manner likely to cause breach of peace, knowingly and unlawfully published offensive publication against the complainant on different websites and accused her of borrowing money to paint her mother’s house and buying a suit for an American sugar daddy.
“Offordile on August 10, 2018, at about 2a.m, threatened to publish Anyanka’s nude pictures in social media if she failed to give him $2,000 within 12 hours.
“The defendant on November 25, 2018, at about 1:50am, 19, Ezekule Street, at Victory Estate, Ago Okota, Lagos, did assaulted Anyanka by hitting her head against the wall and she sustained injuries on her left elbow and leg.
“He also obstructed and assaulted, ASP Akinwunmi Olufemi and Inspector Adewale Adetunji, the investigating police officers from Zone 2 Police Command, and resisted them from executing search warrant, which was lawfully endorsed by a court, on March 26, at about 5:30p.m., at his resident at mentioned above address.”
He denied all the allegations against him and Magistrate B. I. Bakare granted him N500,000 bail, with two sureties in like sum, and adjourned the case till April 16, for mention.
