Man To Spend 30 Years In Jail For Cutting Off His Wife’s Hands Over Childlessness

  • A Kenyan man has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for attempted murder
  • He was found guilty of the charges labelled against him
  • He was however granted a period of 2 weeks to make an appeal with regards to the court’s ruling.

A 39-year-old Kenyan man has been sentenced to 30 years imprisonment for cutting off his wife’s two hands because she cannot bear him children.

The man identified as Stephen Ngila, was paraded before the court on February 9, 2021 for cutting off his wife’s hands, Jackline Mwende.

As gathered  by  EKO HOT BLOG, the incident happened four years ago but the case had been in the court since then, until today when it was finally concluded by a magistrate.

According to the story, Stephen and his wife has been married for seven years, but couldn’t have a child.

They went to a hospital and tests revealed that the problem was with the man. The wife said the husband refused to follow instructions given to him to correct the errors.

She said before the day of the incident, they have been separated for three months.

The woman said that on that day, around 8:30pm, her husband came and knocked on the door, when she opened the door, he told her that, that day will be her last day. Before she could know it, he has started cutting her with machete.

The Judge in charge of the case, Justice Brenda Bartoo, of Machakos Law Court, in Kenya, said the court learnt the suspect never regretted his act.

She added that the offense was grave and the victim doesn’t wish for a restitution.

In conclusion, she sentenced the man to 30 years imprisonment.
