EKO HOT BLOG reports that former Manchester United midfielder, Paul Scholes has been left ‘saddened’ by his former club, branding Manchester United ‘disgusting to watch’ in their 4-0 defeat to Liverpool on Tuesday night.

It was a dreadful night at Anfield for the Red Devils, falling behind after just five minutes, and except for a spell at the start of the second half, they were comfortably controlled and dominated by their hosts.

There was almost no threat going forward for United while they were easily cut open at the back, but it was the effort more than the quality that bothered Scholes.

The former United and England midfielder say he cannot muster up anger anymore, so bad has the situation become, but he cannot believe how little effort Ralf Rangnick’s side appears to be making.

I’ve lost a little bit of anger towards it now, I feel saddened, it’s not great to watch.’ Scholes told Premier League Productions. ‘They lack belief, they lack a way of playing.

I’d like to see them give at least a little bit of effort, it looks like the last place they want to see.

They want their season over, they want it done, they want to move on, but unfortunately, there’s no hiding place. You can’t come to Anfield and be like that.

“The fans have travelled a long way, it’s disgusting to watch. But that’s where the club are at the minute.

“They’ve got to give a little bit of effort, just for them fans coming to the ground.”
Roy Keane echoed Scholes’ feeling that he is no longer angry about the situation but upset.

“I think it was anger earlier in the season, now I think it’s just sadness,’ Keane told Sky Sports. ‘I don’t think there’s any heart there, no soul, no leaders. They lack real quality. They’re so far off.

“There’s disarray at the club, the board, the fans have no time for the owners. They need a new manager, they need players in, they need players out.

“It’s so sad to see United because it’s not the club I played for. It doesn’t reflect what Man United stood for when I played for them.’
