EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United are closing in on a deal for former Tottenham Hotspur star Christian Eriksen and have now made a verbal offer to the out-of-contract Brentford man.
United have held several rounds of “positive” talks with Eriksen and are willing to hand the 30-year-old two-year deal worth £150,000-a-week. But the Danish international, 30, wants to wait to see who United sign this summer before making a decision on his immediate future.
Eriksen returned to English football last season after joining Brentford on a short-term deal until the end of the season.
The Bees are keen to keep Eriksen, but it’s understood he will be willing to join United if the fallen giants push ahead with deals to sign Holland internationals Frenkie de Jong and Tyrell Malacia.
And United have moved to reassure supporters that these two transfers are still on track.
