Management Shut Federal University of Oye, Bans SUG, Orders Students Out of Premises

Following the protest by the students of Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) which turned violent, the authority of the university has shut it indefinitely, ordering students to vacate its premises not later than today, Wednesday 11th of September, 2019

The announcement about the close of the university was contained in a short release which emanated yesterday from the office of the Vice Chancellor of the institution.

The release read :

“Following the unfortunate incident acted out by some youths in Oye Ekiti earlier today, the authorities of the Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE) hereby announces the immediate and indefinite closure of the university to forestall further breakdown of law and order.

“In the same vein, the students union of the institution is disbanded indefinitely.

“Following this closure, the students population are hereby ordered to vacate the university premises no later than 10am tomorrow 11th September 2019.
Further developments will be communicated in due course.
