Eko Hot Blog reports that Manchester City secured their fourth consecutive Premier League title by defeating West Ham United at the Etihad Stadium.
For the first time in Premier League history, a club has won the league four consecutive times, a feat achieved by Manchester City under the strategic leadership of coach Pep Guardiola.
Arsenal pursued Manchester City from April until the final day of the season, aiming for their first Premier League title in 20 years.
The Gunners hoped City would lose to West Ham while they secured a win against Everton, but events didn’t unfold as they had hoped.
Manchester City demonstrated their dominance from the outset of their final game of the campaign, with Phil Foden scoring the opening goal in the second minute.
In the 18th minute, Foden underscored why he was named Premier League Player of the Season by netting the game’s second goal.
Interestingly, West Ham United attempted a comeback late in the first half, with Mohammed Kudus scoring in the 42nd minute.
Unfortunately for coach David Moyes and his team, that was their only success, as Rodri secured a 3-1 victory for City in the 59th minute.
Meanwhile, Arsenal came from behind to defeat Everton 2-1 with goals from Takehiro Tomiyasu and Kai Havertz.
However, their victory was rendered moot by City’s win at the Etihad Stadium.
Thus, under Pep Guardiola’s leadership, Manchester City won the 2023-2024 Premier League title with 91 points from 38 games, finishing two points ahead of second-place Arsenal.
