  • Harry Maguire not too long had made his return to the starting XI of the Manchester United team.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United has been dealt another injury blow as their captain Harry Maguire is a doubt for their Europa League play-off second-leg tie against Barcelona and their Carabao Cup final with Newcastle United.

The defender is currently struggling with a knee injury, leaving his participation in the upcoming matches uncertain.

Maguire was absent from Man United’s squad in their recent Premier League match against Leicester City, with Victor Lindelof taking his place in the starting lineup.

Confirming Maguire’s injury, United’s manager Erik ten Hag revealed that the centre-back is doubtful for the crucial games ahead.

“Harry [Maguire] is injured, and you have to keep everyone fresh,” said Ten Hag. “But also look at your opponent tactical-wise and what can you do, where can you beat them? With that approach, you try to make the best selection every time, of course.”

The injury to Maguire will come as a major concern to Manchester United, who are currently fighting on several fronts this season. They are looking to secure their place in the Europa League final, while also preparing for the Carabao Cup final against Newcastle United.

Maguire has been a vital figure in Manchester United’s defence this season, making 35 appearances across all competitions. His absence would be a significant loss for the Red Devils, especially in their upcoming games against Barcelona and Newcastle United.

Manchester United has been dealing with several injury concerns in recent weeks, with several key players out of action. The likes of Anthony Martial, Marcus Rashford, and Juan Mata have all missed matches due to injuries, adding to the challenge for the team.

However, the Red Devils will be looking to overcome these challenges and put up a strong performance against Barcelona in the second leg of the Europa League play-off.
