EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a shocking turn of events at Wembley Stadium, a Manchester United fan was arrested for wearing a deeply offensive shirt mocking the victims of the Hillsborough disaster.
The individual, whose identity remains undisclosed, was captured on camera wearing a sickening shirt during Manchester United’s FA Cup final clash against Manchester City. Unfortunately for United supporters, the match ended in a 2-1 defeat as Ilkay Gundogan secured a brace for Pep Guardiola’s team.

Before the match commenced, the aforementioned fan was seen donning a Manchester United shirt featuring the number 97 on the back and the words ‘not enough’ added. This attire cruelly referred to the tragic incident that occurred 34 years ago during Liverpool’s FA Cup semi-final against Nottingham Forest, where 97 individuals lost their lives.
As the image quickly circulated on social media platforms, it garnered widespread attention and outrage, prompting the Metropolitan Police to take action against the individual responsible. Shortly after the pictures went viral, an arrest was made in connection with the vile shirt.
Following the arrest, the Metropolitan Police released a statement on Twitter, confirming their proactive efforts in collaboration with Wembley Stadium officials to identify the individual. The statement read,
“We are aware of this and have worked proactively with officials at @wembleystadium to identify the individual. He has been arrested on suspicion of a public order offence and taken into custody.”
The initial photograph of the supporter was shared by a Liverpool fan who expressed their distress and called for consequences. The Liverpool fan’s post read, “A Man Utd fan at Wembley today. Get this man’s face spread across social media ASAP, he needs to face repercussions. #lfc”
The actions of this fan have sparked widespread condemnation within the football community and beyond. The Hillsborough disaster remains a deeply sensitive and painful event for many, and this act of mockery has only further exacerbated the pain and trauma experienced by the victims’ families and the wider Liverpool community.
