Maradona Praises Messi’s Copa America Outburst Despite 3-Month Ban

A day after Messi was hit by a three-month ban by CONMEBOL for comments he made that the recently held Copa America in Brazil was arranged for Brazil to win from the start, Diego Maradona has praised Barcelona superstar, Lionel Messi.

According to Maradona, widely known for sharing his opinion, however controversial, the outbursts are very much what he would have said.

“He seemed to me like a Messi in Maradona mode. I saw him rebelling more, saying what he felt and winning on the pitch without anyone fixing any games,” the Napoli and Argentina legend began.

The former Argentina coach added: “I like this Messi more, that’s with his family, that you see playing with his dog or having a beer. I like this Messi more than the one they criticised because he didn’t sign the national anthem.”
