Veteran Nollywood actor, Chiwetalu Agu, has urged singles to prioritize their safety instead of staying in toxic or abusive marriages.
This comes in the wake of the ongoing controversy surrounding singer 2Baba’s divorce from his wife, Annie Idibia.
EKO HOT BLOG reports that in an Instagram video shared on Saturday, Agu cautioned the public about the dangers of peer pressure and the rush to marry, stressing that marriage should never be viewed as a “do-or-die” affair.

Agu stated, “Marriage is not a do-or-die affair. If you’re in an abusive relationship, or a toxic marriage, run for your life. If you’re unhappy, seek help or walk away. Divorce is better than rest in peace.
“I know some stay because of children or wealth, but remember, a woman was once burnt to death by her husband. Who will care for the children then—him or his family?
