Marry More Than One Wife To Reduce Prostitution, Imo Commissioner Advises Men

In order to curb the high rate of prostitution in the state,  the Imo State Commissioner for Happiness, Ogechi Ololo has urged men to marry more than one wife.

Speaking during a workshop conference in Owerri with over 14,000 men in attendance on Thursday, Ogechi said the state has more women than men hence the increased level of adultery.

Backing her points with statistics, the commissioner said out of approximately 3.9 million indigenes in Imo, 3 million are women.

While stating that she is in no way forcing them, Ogechi beckoned on men to be productive and marry more than one wife to help in taking care of women’s basic needs in the state.

She noted that women in the state are weeping everyday because of their unmarried state and no one to support them financially.

Finally she promised to give stipends to men that will engage in polygamy provided they don’t abuse the wives.
