Mason Greenwood Releases First Statement Post-Trial

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood expressed relief after the charges of attempted rape and assault against him were dropped on Thursday following the trials over a rape and assault case against ex-girlfriend.

The 21-year-old was arrested in January 2022 due to the allegations which were then backed by images and an audio as evidence regarding the charge.

The Crown Prosecution Service discontinued the charges as key witnesses withdrew their involvement.

Greenwood released a statement, thanking his family, loved ones, and friends for their support during the matter. He also stated that he would not be making any further comments at this time, preferring to maintain anonymity.

“I am relieved that this matter is now over and I would like to thank my family, loved ones and friends for their support. “There will be no further comment at this time.” the Manchester United star informed.

The charges were brought upon him at a time when the forward’s career was starting to take shape at Old Trafford, and now, there is no telling what comes next for Mason Greenwood.
