Matawalle Reportedly Suspends APC Campaign In Zamfara

The Zamfara state government has reportedly suspended the APC campaign in the state.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has reportedly directed the suspension of the All Progressives Congress (APC) campaign activities in the state.

The campaign event has now been scheduled to hold on the 18th of January, 2023 for yet-to-be-revealed reasons.

A statement made available to newsmen on Tuesday said the party in the State said its campaign officials have decided to take a break, saying that the ruling party has been campaigning for the restoration of peace in the State.

“I have already made a promise that in my second tenure, I will restore peace in Zamfara State,” Matawalle was quoted saying.

Governor Matawalle reportedly stated this earlier at the flag-off of his campaign at Kaura Namoda Local Government Area of the State last week, Tuesday, 27th December 2023.

Recall that Governor Matawalle has appointed the former Governor of the State, Abdulaziz Yari as his campaign coordinator in the State.

However, the former Governor has appealed to the residents of the State, stressing that the insecurity situation in the state would be addressed if Matawalle returns to power.
