MC Oluomo Elected As NURTW National President

The Southwest Zone of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has elected Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, known as MC Oluomo, as its new National President.

The election took place during the union’s Quadrennial Delegate Conference at the Zonal Secretariat in Osogbo, Osun State.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the election.

The acting National President, Aliyu Issa-Ore, emphasized that the union’s constitution designates the Southwest Zone to choose and present its candidate for the national leadership.

Representing the National Headquarters in Abuja, Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance, confirmed that the Southwest Zone followed all constitutional procedures in electing MC Oluomo.

In addition to MC Oluomo’s election, the delegates selected Tajudeen Agbede as Vice President of the Southwest Zone and Akeem Adeosun as a trustee for the region.

After taking the oath of office, MC Oluomo expressed his commitment to fostering unity and peace within the union.

“I have forgiven anyone who may have wronged me, and I hope those I may have offended can forgive me too. This is our union, and we must protect it. We won’t allow anyone to compromise our source of livelihood,” he said.
