McGregor Found Guilty Of Assault, Ordered To Pay Damages In Civil Court

A woman who accused Conor McGregor of raping her has won her civil case against the Irish mixed martial arts fighter, securing damages.

The jury found McGregor guilty of assaulting Nikita Hand in a Dublin hotel in December 2018 and ordered him to pay her over €248,000 (£206,000) in compensation.

Speaking outside the court on Friday, Ms. Hand stated that her story serves as “a reminder that no matter how afraid you might be to speak up, you have a voice.”

In response, McGregor posted on X (formerly Twitter), announcing his intention to appeal the verdict and thanking his supporters worldwide. “I am with my family now, focused on my future,” he added.

The jury at the High Court in Dublin deliberated for a day before concluding that McGregor had indeed assaulted Ms. Hand.

In a separate case, Ms. Hand had also accused James Lawrence, 35, of Drimnagh, Dublin, of sexual assault at the Beacon Hotel. However, the jury found that Lawrence was not guilty of the assault.
