Popular media personality, Uduak Emmanuel, has reportedly been arrested in Cyprus for dealing in drugs.
According to 1stNews, Uduak, alongside Onuwa Kachıkwu, was arrested on Wednesday, May 6, 2020.
The two Nigerian students were reportedly arraigned in a Cyprus court on Thursday and charged with receiving, selling, and storing illicit drugs.
Presiding Judge, Hazal Hacımulla of the Nicosia Accident Court ordered the suspects to be remanded in prison for five days; so as to ensure non-interference with the criminal investigation against them.
According to reports, a total of 17 grams of wrapped drugs were retrieved from the students.
Police also found different currencies – $3750, €400, £50, and 1100 TL (Turkish Lira) – in a shoebox in their room; the monies are believed to be proceeds of illicit drug sales.

Meanwhile, Uduak was previously arrested by the Narcotics team of the Cypriot police after being found to be in possession of drugs in December 2019.
She was reportedly arrested at her residence in Hamitköy after 3 grams of marijuana – which she allegedly sold drugs to the Department of Narcotics and Anti-Smuggling in Cyprus – was found at her residence.
Some Nigerians have reacted to her latest arrest:
“Uduak again!!! This is the second time she is being arrested for drugs in Cyprus. She used to be very popular on this app some years back. Trended a few years back for Mifi theft. Her friend accused her of snorting all her 80k worth of cocaine in one go. She is global now,” a Twitter user wrote.
“Very soon Nigerian students will be banned from schooling in Cyprus. Y’all be embarrassing us too much. Uduak’s name popping up the third time. Cyprus uni’s reminds me of lead city that year. Was so easy to gain admission,” another added.
“Apart from the case of Uduak, there are several other cases that has shown Nigerians in the bad light. Sadly, no matter how hard some other Nigerians might have been trying to redeem themselves from the disrepute, the bad image still overshadows the good,” another noted.
