Her funeral was held at Lea Funeral Home Chapel, 2500 Poole Road, Raleigh, NC on Friday, August 6, 2021.

Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu had earlier delegated high-ranking government officials and party stalwarts to pay final respects to the late Ajose on behalf of a State and Party she had served with the utmost dedication.

Government/Party officials present at the funeral ceremony include Mrs Toke Benson- Awoyinka, Special Adviser For Housing, Princess Aderemi Adebowale, Special Adviser Office Of Civic Engagement, Alhaji Kaoli Olusanya, Lagos East Vice Chairman as well as Mrs Oluyinka Osinubi, Lagos APC Financial Secretary.

The officiating minister, during his brief exhortation, implored the gathering to draw inspiration from the unimpeachable and praiseworthy life Rebecca lived while on earth, as such would guarantee one’s name in the book of life, much in the manner that she has received her crown of glory in the realm beyond.

He further entreated the gathering to embrace the values and teachings of Christ as a necessary index to fulfilling one’s purpose on earth, as the greater reward for one’s lifetime lies beyond the threshold of life itself.

Delivering a vote of thanks on behalf of the family, her daughter, Abby Ajose, appreciated Lagos State Governor, Mr Babajide Sanwo-Olu for his incredible generosity to the family during their time of grief.

She also thanked the hierarchy of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Eko Club International for their strong sentiments of love and solidarity.

An emotionally distraught Abisoye, who broke into tears while describing the hollow Rebecca’s loss had left on the family, took solace in the fact that her mother lived a meaningful and impactful life in service to her country and humanity at large.

Representatives of the Lagos State Government also conveyed condolences from Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, who described Rebecca’s demise as a personal loss to him as well as the Lagos APC. Sanwo-Olu recalled that Rebecca Ajose was an “indefatigable, devoted, loyal, and committed democrat and team player who played remarkable roles in the success of our party during her lifetime.”

Shola Hasstrup, who described Rebecca as a “darling sister, friend, gist partner, and prayer warrior,” expressed regret that her boon crony and confidante has made her egress sooner than anticipated, but averred that her firm imprints will never be forgotten by all those who worked together and alongside her all through her distinguished career in service of her country.
