EKO HOT BLOG reports that Nollywood actress Mercy Johnson Okojie has thrown her weight behind the incumbent Governor of Lagos State, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, ahead of the March 18 governorship election in the state.
In a post on her Instagram account, the actress endorsed Sanwo-Olu for a second term in office, citing his performance in areas such as healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure as reasons for her support.

Mercy Johnson noted that despite the achievements recorded by the governor in these areas, there was still a lot of work to be done. However, she expressed confidence in Sanwo-Olu’s ability to deliver on his promises.
The actress particularly commended Sanwo-Olu’s handling of the COVID-19 pandemic, entrepreneurship support, and efforts to support women who have been victims of domestic violence.
She wrote: “This is why my choice is Governor Babajide Sanwoolu; His efforts that have improved healthcare, women’s development, transportation, entrepreneurship, education, and infrastructure in Lagos State. Key points for me include the handling of the Covid-19 pandemic, entrepreneurship support, and all the work behind the scenes helping women who have been victims of domestic violence to support their entrepreneurship.”
Mercy Johnson also urged Lagosians to vote for Sanwo-Olu, describing his results as visible and measurable. She added that she believes in her heart that the governor will do more if re-elected.
Mercy Johnson used the hashtags #SanwoAgain and #VoteSanwoolu to further drum up support for the APC candidate in the coming elections.
