EKO HOT BLOG reports that in a bid to revamp his team’s midfield, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta is contemplating the sale of midfielder Thomas Partey, according to recent reports.
Despite a commendable campaign, Arsenal narrowly missed out on the league title, with a faltering end to the season leaving Arteta eager to rebuild ahead of the upcoming season.
Arteta recognizes the need for significant reinforcements, particularly in the midfield, to bolster Arsenal’s prospects for the future. Among his primary targets for midfield reinforcement is West Ham United captain Declan Rice, a player who has caught Arteta’s attention with his impressive performances.
Additionally, West Ham has been linked with potential moves for Brighton’s Moises Caicedo and the prospect of securing Ilkay Gundogan, who is set to become a free agent this summer.
These potential signings may replace Arsenal’s Granit Xhaka, who is expected to complete a £15 million move to Bayer Leverkusen.
However, Granit Xhaka might not be the only key player departing the North London club this summer, as recent reports from The Mirror suggest that Thomas Partey is also under consideration for a potential departure.
