Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, intervenes in the dispute between the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force over the rejected recruitment list of 10,000 constables and specialists, amid allegations of corruption and irregularities.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that amid escalating tensions between the Police Service Commission (PSC) and the Nigeria Police Force, the Minister of Police Affairs, Ibrahim Gaidam, has intervened to mediate the ongoing dispute over the recent recruitment of constables and specialists into the force.

The controversy began on June 4 when the PSC announced the successful recruitment of 10,000 applicants. However, on June 15, the police force rejected this list.

According to the police spokesperson, Muyiwa Adejobi, the recruitment process was marred by corruption and irregularities, with names of individuals who “did not even apply” included in the list.

This rejection prompted a sharp response from the PSC’s union, which called for the removal of the Inspector General of Police, Kayode Egbetokun, accusing him of misrepresenting facts about the recruitment process.
