President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s newly appointed ministers, accompanied by their families, arrived at the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja on Monday to participate in an official swearing-in ceremony.

The event follows the Senate’s confirmation of the nominees last week, marking the latest developments in Tinubu’s extensive cabinet reshuffle.

EKO HOT BLOG reports that Tinubu made sweeping changes to his ministerial team, prompted by calls for a cabinet overhaul.

The reshuffle led to the dismissal of five ministers and the nomination of seven new candidates, whose names were forwarded to the Senate for screening and approval.

Additionally, Tinubu reassigned ten ministers to new portfolios, highlighting his administration’s intent to optimize performance across key government sectors.

The newly confirmed ministers assembled in the Council Chambers of the Presidential Villa for the ceremony. According to Channels TV, the event began with some seats still unoccupied, as other ministers and dignitaries were expected to join.

Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga had earlier announced on Sunday that the swearing-in would take place on Monday, listing the designated roles of each appointee.

The newly inducted ministers include Dr. Nentawe Yilwatda, who will serve as the Minister of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Reduction; Muhammadu Maigari Dingyadi, appointed as Minister of Labour and Employment; and Bianca Odinaka Odumegwu-Ojukwu, who takes on the role of Minister of State for Foreign Affairs.
