Eko Hot Blog reports that the Chief Coroner of Lagos State has adjourned an inquest into the death of late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, better known as MohBad, till 13th of October, 2023.
An official of the Magistrate Court in Ikorodu, Lagos, made the disclosure on Friday after the preliminary hearing.
Recall that MohBad passed way on Tuesday, September 12, 2023.
The mysterious circumstances surrounding his death spurred an autopsy and the coroner hearing.
The preliminary hearing of the inquest held on Friday. The hearing centered on the modalities to adopt on the matter and witnesses are expected to be called upon in the next hearing.
“We just heard a preliminary sitting to discuss the modalities and I am sure you all know that the essence of the coroner is to inquire the cause of death. It is an inquisitorial sitting. What we just had today is to decide on the modalities, how and when; witnesses to bring before the court,” the official said.
“In other words, for us to get to the course of justice, we need to know the procedures to take. That is what we just agreed on today and we have fixed the next date, 13th of October.
“We will be bringing our witnesses by God’s grace. We want to assure the public that the course of justice will definitely be decided. On the 13th of October, you will get to know.”
Meanwhile, Sam Larry, who was accused of assaulting MohBad multiple times when he was alive is currently in the custody of the Lagos State Police Command “assisting” the investigation into the late singer’s demise.
Larry has denied any involvement in the death.
