The press briefing scheduled for 3 p.m. will hold at the Command Headquarters in Ikeja.
Owohunwa will among other issues, give account of progress made so far in the investigation of the late singer’s death.
The Lagos State Public Relations Officer, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, made this known in a telephone conversation with the PUNCH.
“The CP will be addressing the press tomorrow by 3 p.m. Come with all your questions and he will answer them. Until then, I can’t talk,” Hundeyin said.
Hundeyin made this known during an enquiry as regards inviting the late singer’s wife for questioning to aid in their investigation, shortly after the force declared the deceased friend, Owodunni Ibrahim aka Prime Boy, wanted, but was later arrested.
However, the court, on Wednesday, granted the Police a warrant to detain Mohbad’s record label boss, Azeez Fashola, popularly known as Naira Marley alongside music promoter Balogun Eletu, otherwise known as Sam Larry. Their detainment, according to the Police is to aid in their investigation into the singer’s death; a constitutional provision by the court.
In the bid to debunk the speculations making wave, that the duo were arraigned, Hundeyin confirmed the detention of the duo were actually taken to court to get a remand warrant.
“They were not arraigned for the case itself; they were taken to court for us to get a remand warrant to enable us to detain them beyond the constitutional 48 hours provision, so that we’re not accused of over-detention. And to get the remand warrant we needed to present the people in court.
“And we indeed got the warrant, but I can’t but I can’t ascertain the number of days granted yet; I’d make it available to you once I obtain it,” said Hundeyin.
